The English Premier League may introduce pauses during matches for Muslim players who fast during Ramadan.

According to Sky Sports, referees have been advised to take short breaks during evening games in the English championship so that players can eat. The referees were also asked to identify in advance the players who would need such a break and agree with them on when it would take place.

Ramadan began March 21 this year and will run through April 21. Premier League stars who practice Islam are expected to abstain from eating and drinking during this time.
