On January 11 at Rod Laver Arena, Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, Coco Gauff, Maria Sakkari, Alex Zverev, Frances Tiafoe, and Alex de Minaur will participate in the Tennis Plays for Peace charity event.
With tournaments still occurring in Adelaide and Hobart, the involvement of additional players will be disclosed closer to the event.
Tickets for the charity event Tennis Plays for Peace are currently on sale.
All proceeds from the star-studded evening of tennis and entertainment will benefit UNICEF Australia and Global Giving’s humanitarian work in Ukraine. These organizations are delivering aid on the ground.
“Tennis is a truly global sport with an international playing community that has a history of stepping up and helping out. Through Tennis Plays for Peace, the tennis community can offer practical assistance through fundraising, as well as show our heartfelt support for the victims of the war,” Tournament Director of the Australian Open, Craig Tiley, noted.
“We look forward to a spectacular night of tennis and entertainment and a wonderful opportunity to come together and raise much-needed funds.”
Tennis Plays for Peace will feature many entertaining exhibition matches featuring an all-star cast.
