On Monday, BetMGM was officially approved by the New York State Gaming Commission and launched its sports betting platform in New York. It accepts bets via mobile app and a website and became the fifth operator licensed by the NY Commission since the state legalized sports wagering.
To broaden its opportunities, BetMGM partnered with local sports franchises. Thus, it is now an official sports betting partner of the New York Rangers, the New York Knicks, and will advertise its wagering services as a sponsor at the Madison Square Garden arena. Besides, it offers betting services at the retail sportsbook through a partnership with the Empire Casino.
With five sportsbooks having opened their doors to New York bettors, the state becomes the first state in gambling revenue, having left New Jersey and Pennsylvania behind. It gives a green light to the other sports betting operators who will most likely enter the NY arena in the nearest time: PointsBet, WynnBet, Bally Bet, and more.
