In a strategic move aligning with their ambitious growth strategy for 2024, the renowned bookmaker Betway has officially launched its operations in Portugal. The operator is set to operate on the Gaming Innovation Group’s technical platform.
Apart from offering sports betting services, Betway is extending its portfolio to include an online casino for its customers in Portugal.
In reporting his anticipation for the venture, Betway’s CEO, Anthony Werkman, declared that the launch in Portugal was in complete alignment with their ambitious growth strategy for 2024. He expressed eagerness about commencing operations in this new market, stating, “We are eagerly looking forward to commencing operations in this new market!”
The entry into the Portuguese market was initially planned in 2022 when Betway secured the necessary local license. However, the process of selecting a gambling platform caused some delays.
