The first finalist of the 2023 Ice Hockey World Championship has been determined. It is the Canadian national team, which defeated Latvia in the semifinals.
The match took place in Tampere, Finland, and ended with a score of 4-2 in favor of the “Maple Leafs.”
Dāns Lokmelis gave Latvia the lead in the middle of the first period. In the second period, the Canadians equalized with a precise shot by Samuel Blaze. At the end of the second 20-minute period, Latvian forward Rudolfs Balcers once again put the team ahead.
However, in the third period, the Canadians scored three unanswered goals against their opponents. Jack Quinn, Adam Fantilli, and Scott Lotton were the scorers.
In the final of the 2023 Ice Hockey World Championship, Canada will face the winner of the second semifinal match between the United States and Germany.
