The WBA light heavyweight champion of the world (up to 79.4 kilograms), Dmitry Bivol said that he does not consider the fight with Mexican star Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, which took place in May of this year, the main goal in his career.
“People thought ‘Canelo’ was a strong fighter, but I’m not weak either. And I’m strong enough to beat anybody in the flyweight division. On top of that, I have good speed. Although people thought “Canelo” was faster than me.
This fight was not what I dreamed of after I turned pro. It was a big step towards my goal to become the outright world champion,” said Bivol.
In his next fight, Bivol will fight Mexican Gilberto Ramirez. The fight will take place on November 5 in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).
