Mary Earps, England’s goalkeeper and Women’s World Cup Golden Glove winner, has been crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2023! She beat out fellow nominees Stuart Broad and Katarina Johnson-Thompson to take home the top prize. Earps’ win is a testament to her incredible year, which saw her help England reach the World Cup final and win the Euros. It’s also a historic moment, as she’s the first ever female footballer to win the main Sports Personality award.
The ceremony also saw other athletes honored, including Stuart Broad (2nd in Sports Personality) and Katarina Johnson-Thompson (3rd). Kenny Dalglish was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.
