The defending champion from last year, Elena Rybakina, competed in the women’s singles quarterfinals of the Wimbledon tournament.
In the match to reach the semifinals, Rybakina faced Ons Jabeur from Tunisia. The encounter ended with Jabeur, the opponent of the Kazakhstani player, winning with a score of 6-7, 6-4, 6-1. The match lasted one hour and 54 minutes.
In the semifinals, Jabeur will face Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus.
It is worth mentioning that in the Wimbledon 2022 final, Rybakina defeated Jabeur in three sets with a score of 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.
