Reports have emerged suggesting that London football giants Arsenal and Chelsea are locked in a battle to secure the services of Sporting Lisbon’s 25-year-old forward sensation, Victor Gyökeres.
Sporting Lisbon has placed a hefty price tag of at least €100 million on the player, according to AS citing Sky Sports.
Gyökeres has been in scintillating form this season, featuring in 40 matches across various competitions, where he has notched an impressive 36 goals and provided 14 assists. His current contract with Sporting Lisbon runs until the summer of 2028. Despite his exceptional performances, the player’s market value, as per Transfermarkt, is valued at €55 million.
It’s worth noting that before joining Sporting Lisbon, the player represented Coventry City, where he featured in 93 matches and netted 38 goals.
