The captain of the Argentine national team, Lionel Messi, lost his temper in the qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup against Uruguay.
In the first half of the match between the players of the two teams, there was a scuffle during which the captain of the Argentine national team first pushed and then grabbed by the throat Uruguayan defender Matias Olivera.
The match ended with Uruguay’s victory with a score of 2-0. The Argentines suffered their first defeat in the qualification.
After five rounds, Argentina has gathered 12 points and continues to lead in the CONMEBOL qualification zone. Uruguay has accumulated ten points and is in second place.
