Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi is close to returning to Barcelona, for which he played from 2003-2021.
According to media reports, he agreed to a pay cut after Barcelona assured the Argentine that his return was possible.
The Catalan club is expected to offer the 35-year-old a salary of around 10-13 million euros a year, which would make him the third highest-paid player on the list of the Blue Granada. At PSG, Messi earns 35 million euros.
“Barcelona will also work to reduce the salaries of other players and may even engage another economic lever” – it will help the registration of Messi in La Liga.
Messi’s contract with PSG expires this summer. In the current French championship, he played for the Parisians 27 games, scored 15 goals, and gave 15 assists.
