Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the football club, has devised an unusual strategy to retain their star player, Kylian Mbappe. The club’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, is actively persuading the forward to extend his agreement, highlighting two key aspects.
According to AS, Al-Khelaifi is attempting to convince Mbappe that by staying with PSG, he could potentially go down in history as the leading goal scorer in the French league in the near future. The president also emphasizes that the 24-year-old has excellent prospects for success in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris while representing the city’s primary club. It’s noted that upon extending his contract, Mbappe would face no obstacles in being included in the national football team for the Olympics, allowing him to be one of the three players over 23 years old permitted to participate in the tournament.
As of now, Mbappe holds the fifth position among the top scorers in Ligue 1, with 179 goals to his name. The leader of the ranking is former AS Monaco player Delio Onnis, who scored 299 goals.
