Real Madrid has identified an alternative option in case the transfer of forward Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain falls through.
According to Defensa Central, the “royal club” has chosen a candidate to replace the Frenchman. The backup plan for Real is winger Rafael Leao from AC Milan and the Portuguese national team. The player’s transfer value is estimated at 90 million euros.
Leao has been playing for Milan since 2019. In the current season, the winger has participated in 26 matches in all competitions for the Rossoneri, scoring six goals and providing six assists.
It was previously reported that Mbappe decided to leave PSG and join Real Madrid. The transfer was said to involve a record-breaking sum for the Madrid club.
Recall that Mbappe has been with PSG since 2018, and his contract with the club is valid until 2024.
In the current season, the forward has played in 26 matches across all competitions, scoring 28 goals and providing six assists. Mbappe’s transfer value is estimated at 180 million euros.
