Japan’s Miyu Kato and German tennis player Tim Pütz became the winners of the Roland Garros in a mixed doubles match. In the final, they beat the duo of Bianca Andreescu (Canada) and Michael Venus (New Zealand) 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.
The match lasted 1 hour and 38 minutes. During the match, both teams scored three aces and made three double faults.
Miyu Kato and Tim Pütz won a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in their careers.
Earlier, Miyu Kato and Indonesian Aldila Sutjiadi were disqualified during their match against Czech Marie Bouzkova and Spain’s Sara Sorribes-Tormo in the 1/8 finals of the Roland Garros doubles. Their opponents insisted that they were disqualified because Miyu Kato accidentally hit the ball at her head, causing her to cry. The Japanese player was also stripped of all ranking points and prize money.
