The gambling operator DAZN Bet, owned by the world’s largest sports broadcaster DAZN Group, has announced that it has received a license for online sports betting in Germany. The company will join other internationally authorized betting operators that have previously received approval from the German regulator, including 888, Jackpot50, and Tipico.
Established in April 2022 in collaboration with Pragmatic Gaming, the company is based in Malta, where its gambling license is registered. By the end of 2022, DAZN Bet also entered the Italian market.
DAZN Bet is owned by DAZN Holding, which is known for its streaming service of sports content. It holds the broadcasting rights for the Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga, German Bundesliga, Japanese J-League, and over 75 other sporting events, making the holding the world’s largest sports broadcaster.
The company’s subscriber base exceeded 15 million customers by the end of 2022. The revenue for the year 2022 reached $2.3 billion, which is a 67% increase compared to 2021.
