Tunisian tennis player Ons Jabeur, ranked sixth in the WTA rankings, became the second finalist of Wimbledon 2023.
Today, on July 13, in the semifinals of the women’s singles event, she defeated Belarusian Arina Sabalenka in three sets – 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 6-3.
In the final, Jabeur will play against Czech player Marketa Vondrousova, who defeated Ukrainian Elina Svitolina. The match will take place on Saturday, July 15.
It is worth noting that in the quarterfinals, Jabeur eliminated the defending Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, avenging last year’s defeat in the final.
The Grand Slam tournament is taking place in London on grass courts.
The finalists of the men’s singles event will be determined on Friday, July 14, in the matches between Yannick Sinner (Italy) – Novak Djokovic (Serbia) and Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) – Daniil Medvedev (Russia).
