February, the second month of legal betting in the Pelican State, showed the overall handle of $238 million. The 90 percent of the handle is generated from mobile and online wagers.
At the moment, there are six online operators officially registered by the Louisiana Gaming Control Board: Caesars, BetMGM, FanDuel, DraftKings, BetRivers, and Barstool Sports. Their profit made more than $211 in wagers during February, and the figures started to significantly increase after mobile bets became available.
The most of the profit was generated during the Super Bowl. Still, the profits are still lower than they were in February due to large amount of payouts for the bettors. The next biggest revenue generator was basketball, with more than $5,6 million of net profits.
