Dominic Thiem commented on playing at the Challenger in Rennes this week. The Austrian defeated Gilles Simon (4-6, 6-3, 6-2) in the first round.
“I came here for the third time. I really liked the city and I decided to start a series of tournaments here in the hall. I’m going to play a lot in the next few weeks – I plan to play in six or seven tournaments.
I am slowly coming back. In July I got to the quarterfinals in Bastad and Kitzbühel. At the US Open I played well against Carreno Busta, but I just couldn’t win. These results give me confidence before the final part of the season.
