Entain Group, one of the most significant entertainment and gambling holdings, owning world-famous brands like Ladbrokes, Ned, and Sporting Bet, was accused of an ‘extremely serious breach’ by the Northern Territory Racing Commission.

It was announced that the Racing Commission found out that Neds sportsbook, a part of Entain, offered welcome bonuses to attract new customers, which is a severe violation of the Racing and Betting Act 1983. It was not the first Entain’s violation of the Act, as its Ladbrokes brand was accused of the same in 2019 but managed to maintain its license and go with a fine.

Despite the 2019 case, the Racing Commission did not cancel Entain’s license but fined it with the maximum possible amount of A$26,690. Entain was warned that the subsequent breach would consequence further measures.
