Milan announced on the official website the change of ownership of the club.

The new owner of the Italian club became an American investment fund RedBird Capital Partners, which bought Milan from an American hedge fund Elliott Management for € 1.2 billion. Under the terms of the deal, Elliott Management will remain a minority shareholder of the club and keep a seat on the board of directors. The transfer of AC Milan to the new owner will take place in the summer, and the full closure of the transaction is expected no later than September 2022.

“RedBird’s priority is to work with the club’s title-winning sports and club management team. The foundation intends to continue Milan’s journey to the top of world soccer,” the Italian club’s press office said in a statement.

It should be recalled that, following the results of the 2021/2022 season, AC Milan won the Italian championship.
