The Danish men’s handball team became the first team in history to win three consecutive world championships.

The Danes beat France 34-29 in the final of the World Cup 2023 in Stockholm. Thus they became world champions for the third time in their history and for the third time in a row. The Danish team had previously won in 2019 and 2021.

Also, Denmark won the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and the European Championships (2008 and 2012).

In the match for bronze, the Spanish team defeated Sweden – 39:36.

The next World Cup will be held in January 2025 in Croatia, Denmark, and Norway.
