World No. 2 Arina Sabalenka had a sensational exit from the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami (Florida, USA). She lost in the quarterfinals to the 74th-ranked Romanian Sorana Cirstea.

Sabalenka lost in two sets, 4-6, 4-6. The match lasted one hour and 27 minutes. During the match, the opponents had seven aces. But the Belarusian tennis player had more double faults – six against Sorana’s two.

In the semi-finals, Cirstea will play against the winner of the quarterfinal match Yekaterina Alexandrova (Russia) – Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic).

Earlier Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan was selected to play in the Miami Open semi-final. On March 30 she will play against the third racket of the world Jessica Pegula of the USA.
