In the early hours of September 18, 2024, a surprising incident took place at Krakow Airport in Poland involving Oleksandr Usyk, the undisputed heavyweight boxing champion. A video circulating online shows airport security personnel placing handcuffs on Usyk during a misunderstanding at the airport.
According to Usyk’s promoter, the incident was the result of a miscommunication. Usyk was traveling through Poland on his way to Spain to begin training for his highly anticipated fight against Tyson Fury. Accompanied by a friend, Usyk had priority boarding due to his status, while his friend did not. After boarding the plane, Usyk realized that his friend was being denied entry to the aircraft, allegedly due to suspicions of intoxication.
