Today, the state of Kentucky has welcomed legal sports betting. Online players must be at least 18 years old to place bets, and they can only participate through officially registered state bookmakers, including Barstool, Bet 365, Bet MGM, Caesars, Draftkings, Fanatics, and Fanduel.

While the age requirement for most bookmakers starts at 18, Caesars and Fanduel have set their account holders’ age limit at 21.

Kentucky’s Council on Gambling Issues has announced that, starting today, they will begin collecting data on problem gamblers. They believe that the state may face a surge in addiction-related problems with the launch of online sports betting.

Council president Ronson Clark stated that they were already preparing their staff for therapeutic counseling at that moment so that they could address the growing addiction to gambling in the coming months.

Kentucky has now become the 37th state in the USA to legalize sports betting.
